About Our Performances
The ABADÁ-Capoeira Performance Troupe works to preserve and promote Afro-Brazilian culture through athletic and spirited performances. Under the artistic direction of internationally-renown capoeira artist Márcia Treidler, the ensemble has presented over five hundred performances at ticketed venues, schools, cultural events, and outdoor festivals throughout Northern California. Since 1992, this martial art, dance, and music ensemble has been presenting and producing performances that reflect the energy and vitality of Brazilian culture. The ABADÁ-Capoeira Performance Troupe consists of up to 15 performers. Performances include a maculelê performance followed by a brief history of capoeira and a capoeira performance to live music. Performances provide an unforgettable live experience of skill, artistic beauty, and tradition. Performances can be 5-45 minutes in length. Prices vary based on venue and performance length. Non-profit rates are available. Please note that the ensemble requires a flat, dry, clean space of approximately 20'x20'.
