This year’s event line-up included the Batizado graduation ceremony and cultural performance; the youth master classes; and the adult/teen master workshops.
Unlike past years, this Batizado was for both youth and adults. We integrated Instrutor Corrente’s youth program students with Mestra Márcia’s adult and teen students. This proved to be a wonderful way of bringing our community together in celebration.
We are so proud of each of our students. Their enthusiasm and love for Capoeira was apparent in the emotional and heartfelt changing of cords ceremony. Congratulation to all students who participated. We look forward to witnessing your journey ahead.
The workshops were equally amazing. Youth had the unique opportunity to learn from our guest instructor Professor Côco from ABADÁ-Bronx who was assisted by guest artist Instructor Mobilinha from Brazil. The teen/ adult workshops were led by honorary guest Mestrando Mobilia and were well attended by ACSF students, as well as visiting students and instructors from all over North America. The workshops offered extensive training in all the Capoeira rhythms, including a unique class covering the game played to the traditional Angola rhythm.
