6th ANNUAL YOUTH GINCANA A SUCCESS!
On April 8, twenty enthusiastic children showed up at ACSF’s Capoeira Arts Center to participate in the Gincana—a fun, capoeira-thon type event.
Participants recruit sponsors for their participation, and pledged funds are based on how many movements the students perform during the event. Teen and adult capoeira students were there to help as time-keepers, cheerleaders, and to play instruments for the youth.
While this is not a competition, it is an opportunity for the youth to test their capacity and skills, as well as show family and friends their progress and talents. The event raised funds to bring guest artists from Brazil to participate in the children’s Youth Fest.
We are deeply appreciative of the participants, and all of our donors and event sponsors. Although all sponsorship donations have not yet been turned in, we anticipate raising $2,000.
