From Thursday, May 26th – Sunday, May 29th, 2016 we will be hosting our annual Youth Fest, a celebration where youth capoeira student experience authentic cultural art traditions and are promoted to their next cord level (belt) at the Batizado. The event features educational classes and performances by top-level capoeira artists here to share their talent with the youth and our community. The Batizado performance event is open to the public and gathers 150+ people of all ages from throughout the greater Bay Area.
Youth Fest culminates on Sunday, May 29th as ACSF youth and their families join our contingent for the Carnaval SF Parade! For the 15th year, ACSF brings capoeira to the streets of the Mission District as part of 38th Annual Carnaval San Francisco celebration. Carnaval is part of the rich cultural history of San Francisco and we are proud to participate once again.
