The result of the presidential election is unsettling to say the least. And frankly, it is hard to say what it means for our collective future. But what is certain, is that there is strength in unity.
Many students have expressed gratitude for having ACSF to come to when the need to connect was profound. Gratitude for having a safe place to join others and find support, comfort, and inspiration. Gratitude for the opportunity to release stress through capoeira, engage in intelligent discussions, and share resources and critical information on topics such as human and immigrant rights.
In a time when many human interactions occur and emotions get expressed on virtual platforms, it is important to recognize that there is no replacement for what transpires when people come together to talk, hug, sweat, create, and share. We, as a community, find solace in knowing that we can rely on one another for support.
Watching the support our students and families have shown to one another in the past two weeks is inspiring. It makes us very proud of the community that together we have cultivated.
Vamos Mobilizar, vamos continuar!
