Antony "Maracujá" Talks About Heading to Brazil for the 2017 Jogo Mundiais
We are very excited to announce that Antony Melendez “Maracujá”, an extremely dedicated ACSF teen student, will be traveling with Mestra Márcia to attend the Jogos Mundiais 2017. This is only possible thanks to the ACSF Brazil Teens Fund Scholarship. Maracujá has earned points collected from the past 3 years of participating in ACSF programing. His exceptional participation includes regular attendance in capoeira classes, participation in numerous performances including our Spirit of Brazil 2015 & 2017 productions, volunteering including being an assistant for the Kids’ Summer Camp, and more.

A well-deserved award for his dedication, we are very happy to grant Maracujá the 2017 travel scholarship for what will be an unforgettable trip.

The ACSF Brazil Teens Scholarship is supported through proceeds from Sunday’s adult/teen Community Capoeira class— a program offered thanks to the volunteer commitment of Instrutora Tulipa who has been teaching this class for the past 6 years with support from Instrutores Corrente and Urso Panda.
