“Instrutor Soldadinho”

Instrutor Soldadinho, originally from Lagos de Moreno, Jal, Mexico, was introduced to the world of Martial Arts in 2006. He trained in Taekwondo for 2 years until he moved to the United States in 2008. After 6 months of living in the U.S., he was introduced to the art of Capoeira through the Muzenza’s group. In January of 2009, he joined ABADÁ-Capoeira San Francisco training with Mestra Márcia Cigarra and has taken many workshops with Mestre Camisa, Mestre Cobra, Mestre Morcego, Mestre Canguru, Mestre Pernilongo, Mestre Periquito Verde, Mestrandos Mobília, Bode, Arpoador, Arisco, Gigi and Professor Boa Voz.

Since 2015, he has been a big part of ACSF’s professional performance company and has participated in large stage productions of Spirit of Brazil in 2015, 2017, and 2019. Since 2017, he has taught Capoeira to youth of all ages at the ACSF Arts Center and is one of ABADÁ-Capoeira San Francisco’s lead youth instructors teaching and performing Capoeira in public and private schools throughout the Bay Area, from San Francisco, San Jose, Sacramento, Oakland, Fremont, and Santa Rosa.

In 2018, Instrutor Soldadinho received his Roxa cord, which is known as an advanced and difficult level to achieve. In August 2021 he received the next level of Purple/Brown cord at an international historic event hosted at ABADÁ-Capoeira San Francisco attended virtually by Mestres and Mestrandos of ABADÁ with special presence of Mestre Camisa via Zoom.
