Each year, ACSF connects more than 6,000 youth with master-level artists in an effort to preserve the tradition of capoeira, inspire learning, and build strong characters.
Our school-based programs include classes in the music and movement of capoeira, and assembly performances for which company artists bring awe-inspiring capoeira and maculelê performances to hundreds of youth at a time.
Importantly, school-based programs improve cultural equity in the arts by bringing capoeira to schools with limited access to cultural and physical education, and by building awareness of ACSF’s on-site youth program, which is offered free and year-round.
Programs teach youth both artistic and life skills, guide students to be creators, and allow educators to incorporate cultural performing arts into their curriculum. Our students also have access to the best college research paper writing service if they ever find they are falling behind and want to be able to catch back up to their peers and continue through our courses with a little bit less stress.
Capoeira helps people approach conflict, fear, and uncertainty with greater confidence, determination, and humor. Today’s students, like the earliest practitioners of capoeira, learn to translate struggles into celebrations, to believe in their abilities, and to understand the richness of sharing with others. Capoeira is truly a holistic approach to youth development.
