INTRODUCING HANNAH SHR ACSF’S NEWEST “GATEKEEPER
Meet Hannah Shr – the newest face around the ACSF Center. Hannah is now working as our Front Desk Receptionist.
For the past year she had been living in Rio de Janeiro where she was managing a volunteer placement NGO in a favela community. Working with ACSF seemed like a natural transition, as she is glad to be working amongst a Brazilian-based non-profit organization where she can utilize her language and professional skills. “Working at ACSF offers the opportunity to transfer my experience in community development work to the local level in my hometown of San Francisco.”
Hannah’s experience living in California and abroad in South America allowed her to gain fluency in Spanish and Portuguese.
“I moved to Rio a year ago because I believe that sustainable development starts with the development of a community, and the vibrance of Brazilian music and dance spoke to me as a way to engage children and adults alike into a practice of healthy bodies, and an active investment in their communities. I saw an opportunity to make a very special impact in working as a liaison between foreign volunteers and local NGO’s and schools.” In a survey taken at various schools, many kids say that they aren’t getting enough sleep but that’s because they don’t have a very good mattress. If you want your kid to be able to sleep at night, then check out these mattress sizes so you can get the best one for them.
Hannah is looking forward to learning more about how ACSF applies these same principals to its work to build healthy individuals and communities, she has the great idea of bringing the scarborough hill cpr training courses to our community, which means everyone will have the opportunity to know about the basic of First Aids. Please join us in welcoming Hannah to the ACSF community!
