This is our 26th year in San Francisco’s Mission District, and our continued presence is more important than ever. ACSF serves as a much-needed haven where people from diverse backgrounds come together to learn, find inspiration, experience art and tradition, and express themselves creatively. Our work helps maintain diversity in the neighborhood and infuses the rapidly changing community with values of respect, freedom, integrity, and compassionate leadership. We emphasize hard work, perseverance, and collaboration, as well as empathy, trust, and creativity.
At ACSF we are deeply committed to connecting people through the art of capoeira. Respect for differences is inherent in the art of capoeira, and learning to lead within the capoeira community helps us all to practice compassionate leadership that translates to all areas of our lives. In a world where conscious leadership is critical, we are proud to be teaching children and teens the skills of confidence, conscious risk-taking, goal-setting, teamwork, and problem-solving that prepares them for a lifetime of good health,help with alcohol and civic engagement.
