We could not be more excited to announce the return of Mestre Camisa, the legendary founder of ABADÁ-Capoeira and Mestre Márcia’s longtime teacher and mentor.
Mestre Camisa is not just an accomplished Capoeira Master. He is a visionary. He has literally transformed the art of capoeira, bringing it from an undervalued Brazil martial art to an internationally practiced and competitive athletic pursuit, respected profession, and revered cultural tradition.
Mestre Camisa will lead a series of workshops and lectures at ACSF from December 7-10. Having the opportunity to learn from Mestre Camisa is rare and invaluable. His busy worldwide travel schedule and extensive commitments to his own work in Rio de Janeiro, leave limited opportunity for return visits. To maximize time for focused learning, we have decided to postpone the adult/teen batizado until April 13, 2019. This will allow for more training and lectures with this living legend! Also, we are turning to our community to support this event with in-kind and monetary donations. If you have any resources and would like to help, please contact our office. Last, you may follow Mestre Camisa on his California tour by also attending the ABADÁ Orange County and LA events from December 12-16, 2018.
