Learn, Play, Explore, Create, Move, Perform, Sing!
ACSF’s summer camp is full of fun, friends, and tons of learning! During eachone-week session, children spend the day learning capoeira and maculelê, as well as rhythms and songs in Portuguese. They play music-based games, make art projects, try their hand at drumming, and explore capoeira-based games that accentuate team building, leadership and cooperation.
In addition to working with lead instructor Antonio Contreras (Instrutor Corrente) students take classes with guest artists to learn skills like hip-hop dance, percussion, and Afro-Brazilian dance. Youth work throughout the week to create a performance that they present at the final day of camp for friends and family!
